Step 1: Connect to computer
Connect your NVR / DVR to the router via a cat-6 or cat-5 cables.
Go to computer > Start>Run > cmd> type ipconfig
here, you got Lan IP and default gateway. Your device IP must be in the same series of the gateway(Router IP).
For eg. If the default gateway is: 192.168.1.1
then device IP will be: 192.168.1.75
or
If default gateway is: 192.168.2.1
then device IP will be: 192.168.2.64
Step 2: Assign IP to DVR/NVR
Menu>Configuration>Network>General
- Disable DHCP option
Give an IP to the device according to the DVR/NVR according to the default gateway.
Assign Preferred DNS server address
Go to Menu>Configuration>Network>Extranet Access and update the following information
- Disable ezviz cloud
Enable DDNS
DDNS type-HiDDNS / Hkddns / EasyDDNS
Server address: asdev.hik-online.com
Device domain name eg: hik_dvr, steve, or whatever you want.
Now save this setting, no message will be displayed if registered successfully. If an error occurred, then the message will come “Communication to the server failed”. If an error occurred then you should check the Network setting.
Go to Menu>Configuration>Network>NAT and disable the UPNP and apply the settings.
Step 3: Open router and setting
Put the default gateway(find in step 1) in the browser. It will ask for a username and password. Put correct Username and Password. Now try to find an option called DMZ. It generally presents in Advance setting or Applicatons.
Now put the DVR IP in the DMZ and apply the setting.
Now go to the link ping.eu. and Check whether ports 80, 8000 and 554 are open or not.
If ports are closed, go to the router page
Advance Setup>NAT>Virtual Server(or port forwarding) and Port forwarding using your device’s local IP.

Open hik-connect website. In this site, If you have not any account then fill all the information.
If you logged in the first time, it asks to select the country. The country cannot be changed once saved, so please select it prudently. The country should be same as your DVR or NVR. After registration a link will be sent to your registered mail id, click on the link for activation of your account.
Find an option ‘Device management’ and click on ‘Add’ option. Fill Device name and serial number. If HTTP port of device was changed from 80, please enter new port in HTTP Port area.
Now you can access the DVR by Device Link URL.
